Funktionsweise
mpossnewssorting ermöglicht es einem Editor, tt_news-Datensätze eigenständig mit den typischen Sortier-Icons zu sortieren! Die Extension muss lediglich installiert werden und ist anschließend sofort einsatzbereit.

Great extension!
I have a problem: I already have around 200 news and when I install the extension I can't quite figure out how it assigned the sorting value...
So, is there a way of making at least the initial assignment based on the date (default for tt_news prior to this awesome extension ;))
told you in the mailinglist already: do it with phpmyadmin and set the sorting field to the value you need it, e.g. the datetime-timestamp
Cool... I copied the datetime column to the sorting column and everything is cool.
One other question: is there an easy way of reversing the sorting? I like to have the new stories on top and not have to click a few times to go to the end to create a new story.

da stelt sich nur noch die frage: was mus ich tun, damit sihc das auch auf den rss-feed auswirkt ?

Es gibt bei mir einen Fehler in der 1.10:
In der ext_tables.php in der Zeile 26 steht:
t3lib_extMgm::addPiFlexFormValue(9, 'FILE:EXT:mpossnewssorting/flexform_ds2.xml.xml');
es müsste aber das stehen:
t3lib_extMgm::addPiFlexFormValue(9, 'FILE:EXT:mpossnewssorting/flexform_ds2.xml');

This is a really NICE extension. I installed it using the manual and everything went really smoothly. But I have one question. We have for example more than 700 newsitems. What if you want to move newsitem number 700 to position 20 ? As far as I can see I have to click 680 times the sorting button to make this newsitem number 700 to show up on number 20.
Am i right?
yeah or you modify the value in the database directly.
As a workaround this is a good solution. Maybe a nice feature for the future for this extension ;-)

es gibt zur zeit einen bug mit mysql, der das sortieren im FE verhindert, vielleicht liegts daran, einfach mal bei typo3.net in der news-kategorie vorbeischaun.
sonst ist sorting schon richtig

Was ich der Dokumentation leider nicht entnehmen konnte ist der Wert für "listOrderBy" damit ich die Sortierung auch über
TypoScript setzen kann.
...listOrderBy = sorting klappt leider nicht bei mir
