Wishlist for this extension, is that I can add, not just a CE but also a News article. Goal is to woork together with mbl_newsevent, that you can use tt_news as an event in time, but the content of the event is another News article ( Goal is to separate event dates from Content, for events which are allways the same kind of event, but in different dates and day, and maybe location and organizer)

The other idea I had for that, was to extend the Calendar Base Extension, so that you can add CEs or News articles to the event...(i guess that would be easier)

This extension would be really helpfull. You are pretty limited in tt_news items in the default mode so to make it possible to add other content elements will extend the possibilities within tt_news a great deal. Great!

I realy like the idea of adding CE's into tt_news and I can't wait till you have something uploaded to TER. I'm not a great coder, especially not in TYPO3, so I'm afraid I can't help you. But maybe we can discuss soming like a sponsorship.

erst mal ein riesen Lob für deine Extensions. Das sind genau die Dinge, die man sich als Redakteur und User wünscht und benötigt.

Auf Grund der Postings in der englischen Mailingliste und der verschiedenen Kommentar auf deiner Homepage habe ich mir auch die anderen Extensions angeschaut, die du bereits realisiert hast.

Ich persönlich halte die tt_news als eine der wichtigsten und auch auch die mit dem größten Potiential behafteten Extension in Typo3. Als User kann ich die Euphorie von Andreas Becker sehr gut verstehen und empfinde dies ähnlich wenn ich sehe, welche Möglichkeiten sich aus einem Zusammenfügen deiner einzelnen Extensions unter dem gemeinsamen Dach einer "erneuerten" tt_news ergeben könnten. Andererseits verstehe ich deine Antwort auf Andreas Posting ebenfalls. Eine komplette Überarbeitung von tt_news ist eine enorme Aufgabe und mit einiger Arbeit verbunden.

Wenn ich mir allerdings die Möglichkeiten vorstelle, die sich mit den von dir entwickelten Extensions ergeben, wenn diese benutzerorientiert in die tt_news eingebunden werden könnten (beispielsweise rgtitleonimage, rgslideshow, rgsmoothgallery, und und und), würde ich das durchaus als Quantensprung für Typo3 bezeichnen. Hier würde ein komplexes System entstehen, das dem User - also mir ;o) - ein Einfügen von Contentelementen auf einfachste Art und Weise ermöglichen würde.

Als wichtigsten Punkt erachte ich jedoch die Integration der einzelnen Extensions in eine gesamt Extension (und da stimme ich Andreas Becker zu) um das komplett so Benutzerfreundlich wie möglich zu realisieren. Es wäre schade, wenn die einzelnen Extensions wiederum einzeln installiert, und womöglich noch einzeln verwaltet werden müssten. Dadurch würde ein Großteil der wahren Möglichkeiten, die sich aus den von dir entwickelten Extensions ergeben würden evtl. verpuffen (Ich spreche da aus eigenen Erfahrungen als User). Die meisten Redakteure werden wohl nicht über diese tiefgreifenden Typo3-Kenntnisse verfügen (ich gehe da mal von mir aus), die für Änderungen und Verknüpfungen verschiedener Extensions, die unabhängig voneinander zu installieren und zu verwalten sind, notwendig wären. Hier wäre eine einheitliche Gestaltung des Backend, über die man dann als User auf die unterschiedlichsten Funktionen zugreifen könnte, sicherlich eine große Hilfe.

Das wäre natürlich für eine Person eine evtl. doch zu arbeitsintensive Aufgabe. Aber hier könnte man ja (wie schon von Andreas Becker angesprochen) über Spenden dir die Möglichkeit eröffnen, evtl. ein kleines Team zusammenstellen, das dich bei dieser Arbeit unterstützen könnte. Da ich selbst gerade mein kleines Unternehmen aufbaue kann ich dich hier leider nicht mit größeren Geldbeträgen unterstützen. Solltest du jedoch dies evtl. doch noch in Erwägung ziehen, werde ich sicherlich auch einen Weg finden, dich in der einen oder anderen Art und Weise zu unterstützen. Für mich als User wäre hierbei natürlich wichtig zu wissen, ob und wie die von mir (und auch von Andresas) angesprochenen Features und deren Integration umgesetzt werden könnten.

Super Idea Georg and I hope we will get lots more sponsors that the newsce project is just the start to a complete renewal of tt_news which is overblown with small little tiny extensions which are all useful but in no way coordinated with the original backend template for editors. Perhaps it will be possible to integrate lots of those extra fields much more flexible via IRRE like from you suggested.

i.e. Categories aren't really usefull as the display of categories won't show clear levels

like in toi_news, toi_faq, toi_products, toi_categories, category_pages also TYPES of news would be nice to have (like "resource", "info", "project", ...)

missing is also the possibility to enter/assign i.e. departments/units of a bigger institution to a news article beside assigning them via categories. Perhaps these additional Categories/Types/Units/Persons could be added using IRRE (similar to those fields in powermail - very flexible but still looking well sorted :-)

Editing fields in the backend should be displayed in a clear order. right now it depends in which order you install additional extensions and often the layout really looks messed up. Have a look to toi_news and you'll see what would be much more useful and organized.

DAM connectivity should be an absolute MUST. Perhaps features like your slideshow and smoothgallery could be added via simple clicks especially it would be very useful to have the ability to enter more then only one additional content (picture/video/flash/even other CEs)

Locations/Maps/Calenders would be very useful as each article will happen at a certain place at a certain time. The same different search options i.e. like used already in wec_knowledgebase

Features from the TimTab Blog stuff like RSS/Tagcloud/comments(yes/no) flexible for each article would be nice.

It should be possible to define a default author per instants of tt_news storage folder i.e also with defining a default unit or even a default theme/category

Your idea with forms and other CEs is great as it would allow to use tt_news as the general Content Element in TYPO3. I guess instead of having Text Text/multimedia we would need another element called NEWS Content.

It would also be nice to have the ability to show some individual NEWS-articles only partly and after Login / or for Members / or after paying some financial credits the user will be able to watch the whole article (i.e. in one of your nice mootoolboxes including a print-function and a send a card/article/friend function.

There are perhaps lots of more ideas and I hope those haven't been already to much.

Last but not least you should also post you account information here on this page so we would be able to send you the money we already promised in the mailing list.

Thanks Georg for your great work and I hope to get much more supporters for this project as IMHO this would be THE MAJOR Project beside TYPO3/5 and Flow3.
