Hello,

It is time for a small update for you guys.

There are several new features which I would like to present, everything is shown here:

.: Geocoding in the Frontend
You can add now a searchbox to search for a location like in the Backend.

.: Active records
In the bottom right you can see the active records which are the ones shown at the map.
Of course it works with templates and can be modified like you want to. Also a mouseover is possible to show the position on the map (Link mouse).

.: Tabs
The tabs have been completly made new as you can see it here:

Everything is styleable with templates, so do whatever you like!

.: Different templates for different categories
As you can see at www.rggooglemap.com/index.php there is another template for the POI window. You can make different templates for every category.

.: Links in the POI window
As you can see at the 2 last links, you can modifiy the linktext very easily with 3 different concepts
- Insert in the BE record something like that www.just2b.com/|Linktext to set the linktext
- Dynamically per TS: Specifiy a field of the record which should be the linktext, e.g. the name
- Static variant per TS: Set a static value for all

.: What is still to do:
- The current version is still a extra extension and has to be merged into the rggooglemap
- Some features of the old extension are still missing
- Table independency is still missing (but beeing developed)

New version in TER

There is a new version of rggooglemap in the repository. The modifications are quite small but the improvements are big!

  • The Extensions runs now also in a sub directory
  • The map-plugin hasn't to be anymore the first created content element on a page!


Bigger modifications won't get into the repository until the development is not finished!

News from 31.12.06

Wizard

Bernhard Kraft modified my extension and the improvements will be available in the complete new version which is still under development. He added a very nice wizard to show the google map directly in a tt_adress-record. So you don't need the BE-module any more for finding a POI.

News from 16.12.06

Development is still going on and there are many changes. Till now only in the backend
New possibilities in the map

  • Recursion: The Backend-Module works now with recursion
  • Multiple categories: Multiple categories, like you know them from tt_news or many other extensions are possible.
  • Table indenpendency: rggooglemap doesn't need tt_address any more and works with every table you like. E.g. fe_users to save coordinates to FE-users or tt_news to save coordinates to a news article.


Everything in the BE is new, so the whole FE has to be adapted/has to be developed completly from the scratch again.
